Karthik Sundaram
Founder Counsel
Advocate Karthik Sundaram, Founder of Karthik Law Chambers (KLC), brings over 20 years of experience in tax and commercial litigation.
A graduate of Symbiosis Law College, Pune, Karthik was previously part of the Chambers of Senior Counsel Arvind P. Datar and Partner of the Chennai office at Economic Laws Practice (ELP), one of India’s leading tax law firms.
Now practicing as an Independent Counsel before the Madras High Court, Karthik represents clients in tax, trade, commercial, and arbitration matters. His work spans GST, Customs, anti-dumping, IBC, Copyright and RERA disputes, as well as major constitutional challenges and high-value arbitrations.
He is a well-regarded litigator who has appeared before various High Courts, Tribunals, and has previously served as Panel Counsel for the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). He has also been part of the legal team which represented India in a WTO dispute against Japan.
Karthik is also the author of the acclaimed book Tax, Constitution & the Supreme Court (Oakbridge Publications, 2019 & 2022), and a regular contributor to leading legal publications.
Ranjana Jain
Advocate
Advocate Ranjana is a graduate of the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai (2017).
Her practice focuses on commercial and corporate litigation, insolvency and bankruptcy, taxation, and arbitration. Ranjana regularly appears before the Madras High Court, the National Company Law Tribunal, and other tribunals across Chennai, representing corporates, financial institutions, and resolution professionals.
Before joining Karthik Law Chambers, she was associated with J&M Legal and Iyer & Thomas, where she handled complex disputes involving corporate restructuring, recovery proceedings, and enforcement of arbitral awards. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore.
Manikanda Prabhu J

Advocate Manikanda Prabhu is enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and is a graduate of Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli (2022).
His practice focuses on commercial and tax litigation, arbitration, and real estate disputes. He regularly appears before the Madras High Court and various courts and tribunals in Chennai, representing a diverse range of clients.
Before joining Karthik Law Chambers, Manikanda was part of the Disputes Practice at Trilegal, Mumbai, where he gained valuable experience in handling complex commercial matters.
Antara Balaji
Advocate
Advocate Antara Balaji is enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and practices before various courts in Chennai. A graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad (2022), she focuses on intellectual property prosecution and litigation, commercial disputes, and indirect taxation.
Antara has appeared before the High Courts and trial courts in a range of civil and commercial matters. Before joining Karthik Law Chambers, she was an Associate at Factum Law, a boutique intellectual property firm in Chennai, where she handled trademark, copyright, and patent litigation across industries.
Driven by a strong passion for litigation and advocacy, Antara brings meticulous preparation and creative legal thinking to every matter she handles.
Athman Khilji
Advocate
Advocate Athman Khilji is enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and is a graduate of Jindal Global Law School (2023). His practice focuses on commercial and indirect tax litigation, arbitration and related court proceedings, and shareholder and corporate disputes.
Athman regularly advises and represents clients before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums across India, handling complex commercial and regulatory matters.
Before joining Karthik Law Chambers, he was an Associate with the Dispute Resolution team at Veritas Legal, Mumbai, where he worked on high-value civil, commercial, and regulatory disputes for leading corporate clients.
Pavan Kumar Gandhi
Of-Counsel
Advocate Pavan K has been associated with Karthik Law Chambers (KLC) since 2020 and has extensive experience in indirect tax advisory and litigation, arbitration, corporate and commercial disputes, and other civil matters. He also serves as a Panel Counsel for the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
In addition to his work at KLC, Pavan is associated with the office of Senior Counsel R. Murari, assisting in high-stakes matters before the High Courts, NCLAT, NCLTs, and in arbitration proceedings.
Pavan holds a law degree from the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, and an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts from Sciences Po, Paris.
